The specialty of this double IPA is guaranteed by the added Ceylon tea and orange peel pieces. The bitter taste of the IPA is complemented by the unique taste of the tea, and the mild sweetness of the orange peel.
The use of tea is a great challenge in beer making, as there are countless varieties of tea we can use, and it takes lots of trial and error to find the perfect match.
This beer is made of a selection of teas, in which Ceylon is the dominant one, so this inspired the name of the beer, and the origin of the tea – the island of Ceylon - is also represented on the label with the elephant that is also native of the island.
